Had my first accident today since I started cycling. Usually it’s just flat tires or minor bike issues, but this time I fell. I was enjoying the route—it’s flat and easy—and I was supposed to head to Marilao. When I reached Valenzuela, I got too excited, rode fast, saw some humps, tried to slow down and move to the sidewalk, but hit small stones. Next thing I knew, I was skidding and fell. My brakes didn’t help because of the stones.

I ended up with bruises on my knee and shoulder. I’m okay, just embarrassed. Some cyclists stopped to help me and advised me to go home. I tried walking for a while and stopped the bleeding before heading home.
